Compare designs
Several designs on one graph#
Every visible enclosure in the workspace draws its own curve, in its own colour, on every tile. The quickest comparison is a copy with one thing changed. Here the vented example, and a copy made bigger and tuned lower:

Duplicate
Right-click the row › Duplicate (⌘D). The copy lands under the original as “Vented Example 2”, in a colour no other enclosure uses. - 2
Change one thing
In the enclosure panel, set its Volume to 80 L and its Tuning to 28 Hz. The port length follows. - 3
Read the tiles
The copy reaches lower (F3 26.3 Hz against 30.3 Hz) but its port runs faster: 33.4 m/s against 28.4 m/s on Port Velocity. That is the trade to judge.
- Open the vented example at 200 W to try it.
- Hover a row in the list and its curve comes forward on every tile. Hover a hidden one and it shows dashed until you move on.
- For another type or driver, Add new enclosure at the foot of the list. Candidates for one question belong in one workspace, so they can share the graphs.
Colours, eyes and solo#

| Show or hide them all | Click the count in the Enclosures header for Show all, Hide all and Swap shown and hidden. |
| Look at one alone | ⌥-click its eye (Alt-click on Windows and Linux), choose Solo from its menu, or press S with the list focused. ⌥⌘-click (Alt+Ctrl-click) adds another to the solo. |
| End a solo | Click the SOLO chip in the list header, or press Esc in the list. The eyes are as you left them. |
| Pick one to edit | Click its row, or its name in any tile’s legend. |

Rank them with the Metrics tile#
Metrics, under Info in Add tile, ranks every visible enclosure on one number and marks the best. Choose the number from its menu; some take a frequency or a band. A chip says which way wins, Higher wins or Lower wins, and each other row shows how far behind it is.

It offers F3 (−3 dB), F10 (−10 dB), SPL at frequency, Max SPL at frequency, Group delay at frequency, Average SPL over band, Peak Xmax use over band, Peak port velocity over band, Peak PR excursion over band, Minimum impedance over band and First port resonance. Two quantities at once: the Compare tile#
Compare, under Graphs · advanced in Add tile, draws two quantities for every visible enclosure on one frequency axis: the Left axis one solid and the Right axis one dashed, both in the enclosure’s colour. It starts on Excursion and Group Delay. Choose others in its settings, or one of its Presets:
- Excursion + Group Delay
- SPL + Amplifier Load
- Impedance + Electrical Phase
- SPL + Excursion
- Max SPL + Limit Excursion
- Port Velocity + Excursion
Use it to see why a design wins: where the excursion peaks against the group delay, or where the port speeds up against the cone. More on the tile: Compare.
Try things and go back#
- Undo and Redo (⌘/Ctrl+Z and ⌘/Ctrl+Shift+Z) step through your edits, tile moves included. The arrow between them lists the last six steps: choose one to undo back to before it.
- History and saved versions…, at the foot of that list, opens Workspace history. This session lists every step since you opened the workspace; signed in, Saved versions keeps a numbered version of each save to preview and restore.
- Signed in, a row’s menu has Move to workspace and Copy to workspace, to take a candidate to another workspace, or keep a finished one apart.
- A workspace your AI assistant starts for a new question is a draft. Drafts wait at the top of your library for Keep, and are archived after 7 days if nobody keeps them.
