Layouts and pinned tabs

Add, move and resize tiles#

• Add tile, at the right of the layout bar, lists every tile in four groups, Editor, Graphs · core, Graphs · advanced and Info, with a search box. A tick marks the tiles already out, and choosing one of those scrolls to it. A new tile takes the first free space it fits.
• Drag a tile by its title (Drag to move graph). The tiles around it make room, a placeholder shows where it will land, and the rest close up behind it.
• Drag its right edge, bottom edge or corner (Drag to resize). The dashboard is four columns wide, and a tile can span one to four of them and be up to eight rows tall.
• Expand to 2 columns widens a tile to the full width and makes it taller; Contract to 1 column takes it back to half. Remove graph takes it off the dashboard.
• A new workspace starts with just SPL (dB), and taking the last tile off brings it back.

The tiles and their places are part of the workspace: they save with it, and every add, move, resize and removal is a step for Undo. On a phone the same tiles page one at a time: On a phone.

The built-in layouts#

Three layouts come with the app, and all three start pinned as tabs:

• Click a pinned tab, or open the switcher, the layout’s name at the left of the bar, and choose one under Layouts or My layouts.
• A layout brings only its tiles. Your enclosures, drivers and settings stay as they are.
• Leave tiles that were not saved as a layout and a note names the layout you switched to, with Undo. Leaving a saved layout you have not changed is quiet, since its tab brings it back.

Save your own#

When the tiles match no layout, the switcher reads Custom layout with a dot: these tiles are not saved. Save as…, in the switcher’s menu, keeps them as a layout of your own under a name, and Pin to the header in the same dialog is ticked unless the tabs are full.

• Change the tiles of a layout you are on and a dot appears beside its name, with Revert and Save in the bar. Save holds Save as… and Discard changes, and for a layout of your own an update that replaces its tiles with the ones on screen. The built-in layouts cannot be changed, only saved as a new one.
• You can keep 20 layouts of your own, each with a name of up to 60 characters.
• Your layouts and pins are kept in this browser, for your account. Another browser starts with the built-in three, while each workspace keeps its own tiles wherever you open it.

Pinned tabs#

A pinned layout is a tab beside the switcher, one click away. Basic, Headroom and Horn Design start pinned, and up to 5 can be.

• Pin or unpin with the pin on a layout’s row in the switcher’s menu (it shows when you point at the row), or in Manage layouts…. With 5 pinned the pin says Unpin a layout first.
• Right-click a tab for Unpin, Move left, Move right and Manage layouts….
• Tabs that do not fit fold into a +N tab at the end; the tab you are on never folds. When the layout you are on is pinned, its tab names it and the switcher shrinks to its icon.

Manage layouts and the layout menu#

Manage layouts… is in the switcher’s menu, the layout menu and a tab’s right-click menu. It lists Pinned to the header, which you drag to reorder, then Other layouts. Every row has its pin and Apply; your own layouts add Rename, Replace with current tiles (for the one you are on) and Delete, while the built-in ones are marked Built-in. At the foot, Save as new layout saves the tiles on screen.

When your assistant arranges the tiles#

Connected to your account, your AI assistant can put the tiles it is talking about on your screen. While it works, its activity takes the switcher’s place; the arrangement is only for the moment, and when it finishes you choose Keep layout or Restore my layout. More in Watch it work live.
