The kinds#
| Kind | Graph | Shows | Tile in the app |
|---|---|---|---|
spl | Sound pressure level (dB) | SPL at the saved listening distance. | SPL (dB) |
maxSpl | Maximum SPL (dB) | Highest SPL before the driver reaches Xmax or its thermal limit. | Max SPL (dB) |
impedance | Electrical impedance (Ω) | Impedance magnitude seen by the amplifier. | Impedance |
phase | Acoustic phase (°) | Acoustic phase including EQ and filters. | Phase |
groupDelay | Group delay (ms) | Group delay. | Group Delay |
excursion | Cone excursion (mm) | Peak cone excursion per diaphragm with Xmax limits. | Excursion |
prExcursion | Passive radiator excursion (mm) | Peak passive radiator excursion with its Xmax limit. | PR Excursion |
portVelocity | Port air velocity (m/s) | Port air velocity with the 17 m/s warning level. | Port Velocity |
rearPortVelocity | Rear port air velocity (m/s) | Rear chamber port air velocity of a 6th-order bandpass. | Port Velocity (Rear Chamber) |
apparentPower | Apparent power (VA) | Apparent amplifier load including reactive current. | Amplifier Load (VA) |
currentDraw | Current draw (A) | Amplifier RMS current. | Amplifier Load (VA) |
How a graph gets into the chat#
- 1
Your assistant runs the design
simulate_workspaceruns your saved design on the server, at its saved power and settings, or with changes it tries without saving them. The run is kept for 24 hours. - 2
It picks the graphs
render_simulation_graphsdraws up to six kinds from that run, in the order it chooses. When it names none, you get sound pressure level and cone excursion. - 3
Every enclosure on every graph
Each enclosure in the run is drawn on each graph, so candidates compare side by side. A kind an enclosure does not produce is left out, such as port velocity for a sealed box. - 4
Your measurements too
Measured traces saved in the workspace are drawn thin on the graph they match: sound pressure level, electrical impedance, acoustic phase and maximum SPL. Any display offset you set is applied, as in the app.
Power and EQ in the chat#
Ask for controls and the graphs come with an “Adjust” panel. Pick one enclosure, change its drive power and EQ filters, and its curves are solved again in the chat as you go. These are previews: nothing is saved until you apply them.
- “Apply to Workspace” saves the settings to that enclosure, as a new saved version. It appears only when the connection may change workspaces and the chat lets the graph call the connector.
- Where it does not appear, the panel spells out the settings to keep, so you can ask your assistant to apply them.
- “Reset” goes back to the saved settings.
Where the graphs show#
Assistant apps that show MCP Apps widgets, such as ChatGPT, draw the graphs as interactive tiles in the conversation. Everywhere else the same call returns a summary your assistant reads: each curve’s peak, where it peaks, and its limit line, so it can still answer with numbers.
In the app instead#
The app has 27 tiles, more than the chat’s eleven kinds. If you have the workspace open, your assistant can bring the tiles its numbers come from to the front there and mark them, instead of drawing graphs in the chat. See Watch it work live and every tile.
