# Keyboard shortcuts

> Every keyboard shortcut in 00 Simulator: undo and redo, the enclosure list, number fields, tiles, your workspaces, and search in the app, docs and gallery.

Every keyboard shortcut 00 Simulator has, and the mouse moves that save a trip to a menu. On a Mac use ⌘ and ⌥; on Windows and Linux, Ctrl and Alt. The app writes them the same way, as ⌘/Ctrl+Z.

## Undo and redo

| Keys | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `⌘/Ctrl+Z` | Undo the last change to the workspace. |
| `⌘/Ctrl+Shift+Z` | Redo it. |
| `Ctrl+Y` | Redo, on Windows and Linux. |
| Right-click **Undo** | The recent steps, to undo back to one, and **History and saved versions…**. |
| `Esc` | Closes the menu, dialog or popover that is open. In the **Appearance** palette it asks first if you have unsaved changes. |

Undo and redo work anywhere in the simulator, except while you are typing in a field (the field keeps its own undo) or another dialog is open. While your assistant is editing the workspace they point you to **Take control** instead.

## The enclosure list

Click in the list, or Tab to it, and these keys act on the selected enclosures, or on the one you have open when nothing is selected.

| --- | --- |
| `↑` `↓` | Open the enclosure above or below. |
| `Shift+↑` `Shift+↓` | Extend the selection up or down. |
| `Space` | Add the highlighted row to the selection, or drop it. |
| `⌘/Ctrl+A` | Select all. |
| `Esc` | Clear the selection; with nothing selected, end solo. |
| `Enter` | Rename the open enclosure. |
| `H` | Hide them, or show them if any are hidden. |
| `Shift+H` | Show all. |
| `S` | Solo them, so only they draw on the graphs. Press again to end solo. |
| `⌘/Ctrl+D` | Duplicate. |
| `⌘/Ctrl+Backspace` or `Delete` | Delete. One enclosure goes at once (undo brings it back); several ask first. |
| `⌥/Alt+↑` `⌥/Alt+↓` | Move up or down the list. |
| `⌥/Alt+Shift+↑` `⌥/Alt+Shift+↓` | Move to the top or the bottom. |

The right-click menu shows the same keys beside **Hide**, **Solo**, **Rename**, **Duplicate** and **Delete**, and the list menu beside **Select all** and **Show all**.

### With the mouse

| Move | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| ⌘-click (Ctrl-click on Windows and Linux) | Add a row to the selection, or drop it. |
| Shift-click | Select every row between the last one and this one. |
| Double-click a row | Rename it. |
| Drag a row | Move it up or down the list. |
| ⌥-click (Alt-click) an eye | Solo that enclosure. |
| ⌥⌘-click (Alt+Ctrl-click) an eye | Add it to the solo. |
| Press an eye and sweep over other rows | Show or hide them all the same way, as one undo step. |

## Number and name fields

| Keys | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `↑` `↓` | Step the value up or down. |
| `Shift+↑` `Shift+↓` | A bigger step: ten steps, unless the field sets its own. |
| `Enter` | Keep what you typed. |
| `Esc` | Put the last good value back, or cancel a rename. |

A field’s step buttons show its step sizes the first time you hover them, under **Keyboard adjustment**. The fields in the [calculators](https://simulator.00aud.io/docs/guides/calculators) step the same way.

## In tiles

| Tile | Keys | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Horn Editor](https://simulator.00aud.io/docs/reference/tiles/horn-editor) | Tab to a handle, then `←` `→` `↑` `↓` | Nudge it: a station’s area or position, a stuffing edge, the total length or the height. With `Shift`, ten times as far. |
| [Baffle Layout](https://simulator.00aud.io/docs/reference/tiles/baffle-layout) | Tab to the driver, then the arrows | Move it by 2% of the baffle’s shorter side, 8% with `Shift`. Needs baffle step on. |
| [Baffle Layout](https://simulator.00aud.io/docs/reference/tiles/baffle-layout) | Tab to an edge or corner handle, then the arrows | Change the width or height by 1 cm, 5 cm with `Shift`. |
| [Fold](https://simulator.00aud.io/docs/reference/tiles/fold), in **Draw** | Click the drawing, then the arrows | Extend the passage one cell up, down, back or to the front. |
| [Fold](https://simulator.00aud.io/docs/reference/tiles/fold), in **Draw** | `Backspace` or `Delete` | Remove the last cell. |

## Your workspaces

On the page that lists [your workspaces](https://simulator.00aud.io/app/workspaces), signed in:

| Keys | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `/` | Go to the search box, **Search names, enclosures and drivers**. |
| `↑` `↓` | Move from one workspace to the next. |
| `→` `←` | Open or close a workspace’s peek at its enclosures. |
| `⌘/Ctrl+D` | Duplicate the workspace under the pointer. |

## Help beside a tile

Choose the ⓘ in a tile’s header for a short explanation, what a healthy reading looks like and things to try. On a computer it stays open while you edit your design. **Full page** opens the complete reference in a new tab; **Ask AI** prepares a prompt for your own assistant. Use **Close help** or `Esc` to close the panel.

| `/` | Simulator, docs, gallery | Open search, when you are not typing in a field or using another dialog. |
| `↑` `↓`, `Enter` | In search | Move through the results and open one. |
| `Tab` | The app or docs search field | Step through the scopes: All, Tiles, Pages, Terms, Sections, Calculators. |
| `⌘/Ctrl+Enter` | App or docs search | Hand what you typed to Ask your assistant, as a question. |
| `Esc` | In search | Close it. |
| `⌘/Ctrl+I` | Simulator or docs | Open or close Ask your assistant, unless you are typing in a field or using another dialog. |
| `⌘/Ctrl+Enter` | Ask your assistant | Copy the prompt with your question in it. |

In the simulator, **Info** › **Search workspace and docs** opens the same search. It can go to a tile already on your dashboard, explain a tile, or add an available tile when the layout is editable. Docs results open in a new tab. On the [docs home](https://simulator.00aud.io/docs), Tab to the search field and start typing: search opens with what you typed.
