# Prompts that work

> Prompts for your assistant with 00 Simulator: find a driver, design and compare boxes, fix a noisy port, check a build against a measurement.

Source: https://simulator.00aud.io/docs/ai/prompts

Start with “Using 00 Simulator,” so your assistant reaches for the connector, say what you want and the limits that matter, and ask it to try changes without saving. Every prompt here asks only for what the connector can do; copy one, or open it in Claude or ChatGPT.

## How to ask

- Start with “Using 00 Simulator,”. It tells your assistant to use the connector rather than answer from memory.
- Say which design: “my most recent workspace”, “the workspace I have open” or a workspace by its name. It lists your workspaces with the one you opened last first, and can tell whether you are watching one.
- Give it the goal and the limits: the power you will use, the box size that fits, how low it should go, and the excursion or port air speed you will accept.
- Ask it to try changes without saving. It runs them as temporary edits, so your design changes only when you say so.
- Keep alternatives together. Ask it to add candidates to the workspace you are working in, where they share one graph, rather than making new workspaces.
- Ask for the numbers and the graphs. It can draw graph tiles in the chat and, with the workspace open, arrange your tiles and mark them.

## Find a driver

**Search by T/S values**

It searches by brand, impedance, Fs, Qts, Vas and power handling with `search_drivers`, then sorts the matches itself.

> Using 00 Simulator, find 8 Ω drivers with an Fs under 30 Hz, a Qts between 0.3 and 0.45 and at least 500 W power handling. List the five with the most Xmax, with their Fs, Qts, Vas, Xmax and power handling.

**Check a datasheet**

For a driver the search does not have. `validate_driver` reports missing fields and values that disagree with each other.

> Using 00 Simulator, check the T/S parameters I paste below for missing values and contradictions, and tell me whether they are enough to simulate.

## Design and compare

**Two boxes for one driver**

It starts from the app’s own suggestions (`suggest_enclosure`), adds both boxes to one workspace (`add_enclosure`) and simulates them together.

> Using 00 Simulator, suggest a sealed and a vented box for the Ciare 12.00SW and add both to my most recent workspace. Simulate them at 100 W and compare their F3, box volume, peak excursion against Xmax and, for the vented box, peak port air speed.

## Fix a problem

**A port that chuffs**

Each option is a temporary change in a `simulate_workspace` run; 17 m/s is the app’s default warning line. See [Fix a noisy port](https://simulator.00aud.io/docs/guides/noisy-port).

> Using 00 Simulator, the vented box in my most recent workspace chuffs when I turn it up. Find the power at which its port passes 17 m/s, then try a bigger port, two ports and a lower tuning without saving, and tell me each option’s peak air speed and port length.

**Too much excursion**

EQ filters are part of the design, so it can try one as a temporary change and compare the runs.

> Using 00 Simulator, add a high-pass filter just below the tuning of the vented box in my most recent workspace, without saving. Tell me how much it lowers peak excursion below the tuning at the saved power, and how much level it costs at the F3.

## Show me on my graphs

**While I watch**

With the workspace open in 00 Simulator, `show_graphs` arranges your tiles and `annotate_graphs` numbers its marks. You keep the arrangement or go back to yours. See [Watch it work live](https://simulator.00aud.io/docs/ai/live).

> Using 00 Simulator, while I watch the workspace I have open, put the Excursion tile first with SPL (dB) and Port Velocity beside it, and mark where each cone passes Xmax.

## Check a build

**Measurement against simulation**

`import_trace` links the measurement to the box; `compare_trace` reports the level offset (distance or drive) apart from the difference in shape.

> Using 00 Simulator, import the REW export I paste below as an SPL measurement of the vented box in my most recent workspace, compare it with the simulation, and tell me the level offset and where the shape differs most.

## Horns

**Fold it and check it**

`fold_horn` folds it the way the Fold tile does and returns the passage as built, which it simulates beside your design.

> Using 00 Simulator, fold the horn in my most recent workspace into a cabinet, simulate the folded horn beside the straight one without saving, and tell me whether it fits, its path length and how much the fold changes the response.

**The smallest cabinet**

The same fold, asked for its smallest cabinet and its board cut list.

> Using 00 Simulator, find the smallest cabinet that holds the horn in my most recent workspace and give me its cut list, without saving anything.

## Explain a result

**Read the docs, then my design**

It finds the page with `search_docs`, reads it with `read_doc` and links it in the answer, then simulates your box.

> Using 00 Simulator, read the docs on the Port Velocity tile, then explain the port air speed of the vented box in my most recent workspace at its saved power and what I should change first.

## Tidy up and undo

**Clear the rejects**

It removes them with `remove_enclosure` and hands back with `end_workspace_session`: you read its summary in 00 Simulator, where you can keep or undo its changes.

> Using 00 Simulator, remove the candidates you added to my most recent workspace that we ruled out, and finish with a short summary of what is left.

**Go back a version**

Restoring adds the old version as a new one, so the versions after it are kept.

> Using 00 Simulator, list the saved versions of my most recent workspace and restore the one from before today’s changes.

## Change how the app looks

**A theme of your own**

It checks the theme with a dry run of `save_theme` before saving it; a theme under a contrast floor is refused.

> Using 00 Simulator, make me a theme based on Grosso with a bit more contrast between the side panel sections, check it against the contrast floors and switch to it.

## What won’t work

- Sharing or publishing a design. It cannot create share links; share it yourself from the app.
- Designs you made as a guest. They live in your browser, not your account.
- Reading your screen. It reads the workspaces saved in your account, not what is on your screen.
- Searching for a driver by size or Xmax. It searches by name and by brand, impedance, Fs, Qts, Vas and power handling, then reads Xmax and cone area from what it finds.
